THE FOUNDER: CAMERON HAUGHEY
Cameron Haughey has 12 years experience in screen-printing up and down the east coast of Australia. Cam started screen-printing in his backyard as a teenager, when he built his own silkscreens and frames and taught himself (way before YouTube tutorials existed).
His break into the screen-printing industry was with Melbourne’s New Model Beauty Queen in 2002 and he is one of Australia’s most experienced printers. He learned the art of printing yardage fabric on one of the last hand printed carriage operated setups left in Australia. He has printed yardage for hundreds of clients including celebrated Australian fashion label Romance Was Born. He has a long running association with Arcade Screen Printing and Screen Haus where he also teaches screen-printing regularly.
Cam holds tertiary qualifications in both Industrial Design (Enmore TAFE and UWS) and Visual Arts (SCU), and his skills across these fields equip him with the ability to innovate designs and build creative solutions for almost any requirement.
A practicing artist in his own right, Cam has exhibited his work throughout the east coast of Australia. He can be commisioned for murals, illustration, paintings and character design.
THE BUSINESS: STREET LEVEL SCREEN-PRINTING
Street Level Screen-Printing was established in May 2013.
At Street Level we have a collection of the finest screenprinting equipment - the American made Ryonet Silverpress 6 Colour carousel. The six colour allows us the ability to print even the most complex colour designs any of you can dream up.
We have a large German made industrial drying oven to guarantee all prints will be set for life, our plan is that our prints will outlast your shirt. The oven is large enough and fast enough to allow us at street level screenprinting to complete all our printing jobs quickly and accurately, making sure we can meet even the tightest deadlines.
Our preprint film out put system is from Japan and has been the industry standard for some years now. This system has been tried and tested by screen printers the world over and is currently being set up in our factory space.
We use the best inks supplied by Permaset, who share our philosophy that the production of good colourfast and lasting printed garments need not have any impact on the environment, we value sustainable choices. We're also aware of the issues with the production of apparel and can provide both organic and ethical options.
